Paul joined MEDICA in 2014 as Marketing Executive with an initial focus on the development and promotion of the services offered by MEDICA. He also developed and managed the recruitment function responsible for all clinical and senior level appointments within the business. He is now Head of Marketing and responsible for all Marketing, Communications, Public Relations and Events.

Paul holds a BA (Hons) degree in Marketing and a postgraduate diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing. During his early career, he cut his teeth in specialist life science and healthcare recruitment working in partnership with companies such as Siemens, GE and Roche Diagnostics, he later moved into PR management and Marketing, an area that he has now worked in for over 8 years.

Sam joined MEDICA in October 2019 and heads up the Project Delivery team. An experienced Project, Programme and Change Manager, Sam has worked in a wide range of industries within both the public and private sectors. She has significant experience in setting up project teams, coaching new project professionals and successfully developing project management practice.

She has delivered a very diverse portfolio of projects – from multi-million-pound IT projects (from procurement through to implementation) to enterprise-wide organisational re-design.

Whilst at the Cabinet Office, Sam set up the Project Leadership Programme for project managers across government and also became an accredited Project Assurance reviewer, carrying our project reviews and peer challenges for major public sector projects.

Sam is a Chartered Project Professional, has a BA in Philosophy and Politics and an MBA specialising in Technology Strategy.

Ian joined MEDICA in 2018 and leads the Information Security and Risk team, who maintain the Group’s information security and quality management systems and oversees MEDICA’s risk management and data protection activities.  He works closely with the Executive and wider Management Teams to drive information security, risk management and cyber security strategy.

Having held a number of technology and security roles over the past 11 years, Ian has industry experience in Financial Services, Insurance and Local Government. The most recent of these saw Ian leading the information security and IT streams for a GDPR programme and developing security governance.

In 2018 and 2019, he was a nominated finalist for the Cyber Security Awards in London. Ian is a member of the BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT and has seen a number of his articles published in their quarterly magazine ‘ITNow’. Ian holds a number of security, data protection and IT qualifications and is working towards the security leadership certification ‘CISSP’.

David Evans : Functional Architect

David joined MEDICA in 2008, and since then he has held a number of roles within the areas of Deployment and Project Management. Currently, David is the Functional Architect and is leading on the functional design of the MEDICA systems.

Prior to MEDICA, his background was in the NHS, initially as a Medical Physicist that specialised in diagnostic radiology and radiation protection.  David then moved into the role of NHS Project Manager, initially to deliver CR, RIS and PACS projects to a large, multi-site NHS organisation.  David has also worked with a number of organisations in delivering remote reporting, PACS and data migration projects.

Ben joined MEDICA as a member of the Operations team in 2007 and has fulfilled a number of roles within the business during its significant growth. His qualifications, background and experience cover a wide remit including technical, operational and commercial.

He now supports the Business Development Director in managing the Account Management team and performance. Ben is responsible for client relationship management and commercial growth. Ben also brings a significant depth of understanding of teleradiology services and how they can best support positive patient outcomes and local hospital departments.

James joined MEDICA in 2013 as part of the Support Engineer team. In this role he focussed on keeping services running out of hours, resolving technical issues and providing training on client RIS systems to MEDICA Radiologists. 12 months later, he moved into a Client Liaison role with the aim of developing client relationships and processing routine work streams. He then accepted the role of NightHawk Lead where he headed the NightHawk team, working directly with client hospitals and MEDICA Radiologists to deliver the highly regarded flagship sub-60 and sub-30-minute acute reporting service.

James has since progressed to Service Performance Manager, where he will focus on operational performance through business intelligence and predictive analytics. James works in conjunction with key stakeholders to identify and execute data-driven modifications to processes, to enhance customer, patient and reporter success.

Since joining MEDICA in 2017, Rob has brought his 25 years IT experience to both the technical and managerial side of the job in order to drive the IT function forward and continue to improve upon the great service currently delivered.

IM&T operate a busy Service Desk 24x365, ensuring that MEDICA runs seamlessly day to day.  This includes troubleshooting client and reporting issues and providing 24/7 cover for everything in between. The IM&T team work to keep all active systems as seamless and reliable as possible. Identifying and implementing new technology ensures that staff and reporters at MEDICA have the tools they need to deliver a consistently superior service. The team are all passionate about technology and driven to use technology to continually improve the service offered to clients and to make a real difference to patients.

Nathan is responsible for the creation of new systems and supporting existing systems to enable growth and new initiatives.

Jo-Ann joined MEDICA in January 2019 in the new position of Financial Controller.  She is an ICSA and CIMA qualified accountant with over 20 years of experience working in a variety of sectors and industries (both commercial and charities) as Finance Director and Financial Controller. She has experience in building strong, motivated finance teams as well as ensuring robust financial controls and sound financial management.

Jo-Ann is responsible for mentoring and leading the development of the Finance team.  In addition, she will be providing support in areas relating to the legal structure, corporate compliance and other statutory compliance matters.  She will also be working with various stakeholders to develop and enhance procedures and processes, ensuring that these keep pace with the continued growth of the Group and ensuring efficiencies are achieved.

Camilla is a CIMA qualified accountant with 25 years’ experience working in various privately owned businesses. Prior to joining MEDICA as Finance Manager in May 2017, she spent 10 years working as the UK Financial Controller for a global service engineering provider where she was responsible for managing the UK finance function.

Camilla's role as Finance Manager at MEDICA involves managing the finance team, with her principal responsibilities being the management of all financial aspects of the business ensuring information is delivered to the senior management team in a timely manner with a high degree of accuracy. She is focused on enhancing the quality of the financial information provided to key stakeholders in the business, together with supporting the continued growth of the Group at an exciting time in its history.

Before Ella joined MEDICA, she worked in Healthcare recruitment working with the NHS and private hospitals. In 2016, she brought this experience to her new position as a Recruitment Resourcer at MEDICA. She initially worked in the recruitment team to source and recruit quality reporters in line with the business needs and has helped to develop capacity for the specialist service lines.

In 2018 Ella undertook a Level 3 qualification in Recruitment Practice with the Recruitment and Employment Confederation.

She is now the Recruitment Manager, responsible for the overall and continued success of the recruitment team.

Gary joined MEDICA in November 2009 as a Support Engineer. Progressing through Service Delivery he gained a BSc Open degree in Computing & IT and Management. Gary now heads the Service Delivery Department and manages multiple teams including Reporter Liaison, Client Liaison, Allocation, SLA Management, NightHawk, Technician and Leadership teams who are responsible for the delivery for all of our Routine, Acute and Specialist service lines.

The teams work in partnership to support all our clients and reporters in fulfilling their reporting requirements, as well as ensuring the service being provided is of an exemplary standard. The leadership team analyse performance, forecast capacity and manage demand to ensure that the needs of clients and reporters are met.

Ben joined MEDICA in late 2008, after qualifying as a Radiographer in 2003, he held posts as a Senior 1 Radiographer and PACS Manager within the NHS.

Ben manages the team who oversee the deployment for all of our clients, reporting service lines, reporters and reporting centres. He handles all the clinical applications training required by the reporters and is available to provide on-going training and support for all users.

As well as providing initial deployment training, he also supports the ongoing training needs for all of our reporters throughout their time with MEDICA.

Julie is a qualified diagnostic Radiographer (BSc. Hons, Medical Imaging). She joined MEDICA in January 2013 having worked in the NHS for 13 years. With her first position in the company as an Administrator in the Clinical Governance team. Julie has progressed within the team to Head of Governance and Compliance.

The team manage the InSight Portal for discrepancies and queries, deliver internal and client audit and facilitate the independent whole practice and designated body appraisal processes. Clinical Governance ensure a high standard of image quality and clinical protocols through monthly educational case reviews, and regular client feedback to facilitate learning and development for our reporters. Management of health and safety, in-house mandatory training, and complaints investigation also fall within the remit of the Governance and Compliance team.
