Some Frequently Asked Questions…

Will I have access to the patient's history?

You will have the same access to the radiology history of the patient, including previous reports, as the local radiologist does. The relevant prior images are also automatically presented for comparison at the time of reporting.

Can I still work in the NHS and work for MEDICA?

Yes. In fact we prefer our radiologists to retain a connection with the NHS. MEDICA adopts a flexible approach to working patterns allowing you to adapt sessions to fit around your availability and with consideration of your other non-MEDICA work commitments. We would be happy to discuss these points with you as we know that each radiologist has different circumstances.

Working from home would not be suitable for me

MEDICA has an established network of high-tech reporting locations. These Reporting Centres offer the opportunity to report for MEDICA in a state-of-the-art and fully maintained reporting office, dedicated to your needs. The Reporting Centres are operational 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and benefit from the same unrivalled in-house support that all of our reporters receive. MEDICA Reporting Centres offer even more options and flexibility for reporters for whom it may not be convenient or preferential to work from home.

What equipment do you use/provide?

We provide a full PACS workstation, including dual colour 3MPs DICOM monitors – at least the same standard as the NHS and Independent Sector. Voice recognition is standard.

Can I take extended holidays when working for MEDICA?

Yes. Due to the flexibility that we can offer, as long as you let us know in advance then you can take breaks of up to 6 weeks if you care to.
